Students’ Union of the U of A and Community Day Care Centre Society started operating in 1974 and has been offering programs to families in the community ever since. Our privately operated ECS program is one of the programs we offer. As a privately operated ECS was are also part of the Independent Community Operated Kindergarten Society.
Our ECS program provides:
• a kindergarten program in a child care setting for children of working parents and student parents.
• a kindergarten program that meets the curriculum goals by planning around the children’s interests in a literacy and mathematics rich environment.
• on-going professional development opportunities for the ECS teacher.
• an early education program for children with a variety of special needs which includes working with various agencies and/or professionals.
• opportunities, support, and resources for all the parents.
• PUF and MILD/MOD programming.
