The history of Rimbey Christian School is short by some standards and thirty years ago it was only visions and dreams, but God has blessed these efforts abundantly. What was discussion in 1984 became reality in 1986 when Rimbey Christian School first opened its doors in its 2 portable classrooms to 14 students in grades 1-5 and another 11 in kindergarten.
The student body and staff continued to grow, but, such was not the case with the building – it seemed to be shrinking!
In 1988/89 a fund-raising program was begun resulting in $100,000 being raised to actually build a school! The first part of the building built in 1989 had 6 classrooms, a staff room and an office. In 1995 the library, kitchen, 2 classrooms and a resource room were added. An additional five acres were purchased in 1995 to add to the initial three acres. In 2007 Rimbey Christian School sold 2.45 acres to clear the school of all debt.
Today, we are continually reminded of God’s love and faithfulness and how he is indeed our Provider.
Although the student body and size of staff have decreased over the past few years, Rimbey Christian School is still thriving and continues to provide high quality education that develops inter-denominational Christian values in a joyful and inclusive environment, displays and magnifies Christ in all things, supports and values all students, builds positive relationships and aligns with Alberta curriculum.

Rimbey Christian School is a parental school. The parents and other society members elect a board which, together with the principal, hire a staff whom they feel is qualified and committed to the vision of Christian education.
The Rimbey Christian School Society is inter-denominational. It is an organization completely separate from any church. Christians are united in the belief that a Christian school is the vital link in the upbringing of the children God has entrusted to parents. That link must include the home, the church and the school.
Rimbey Christian School is operated by parents and supporters who make up the Rimbey Christian School society.
Together, as a society, the members determine the school’s vision and goals, elect a board and participate in committee work to make their vision a reality. You may become a Rimbey Christian School society member for $25/year and be a voice for our school.
Parents support teaching staff through prayer and through volunteer work. Teachers welcome parents into the classrooms to help students with special assignments, to provide extra attention for special needs students, to take care of classroom routines or even just to come for a visit and observe the classroom.
