Kids Developmental Services is a Private Early Childhood Services Operator, funded by Alberta Education. We provide these services to children between the age of 2 years 8 months and 4 years 8 months. Team members work with the child in their preschool or child care classroom, in the child’s home and/or in the community in our Kids PlayTime groups. Our team of professionals working with the child always includes the child’s parent(s) or primary caregiver(s), the child’s classroom Early Childhood Educator, and an Alberta Certificated Teacher. Then, depending on the child’s needs, a Developmental Assistant, Family Support Specialist, Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Psychologist, Psychology Support Specialist, Speech-Language Pathologist, and a Speech-Language Assistant, may be added to the child’s team. We follow a play-based and child-led philosophy and outdoor play is a large component of the child play group experience. We also provide a variety of parent support and information groups, and we provide professional development to our partnerships to support them in building staff capacity. Our staff attend a number of Professional Development days during the school year, and we also provide intervention, when possible, to children accessing Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD).
