OneSchool Global North America’s Northernmost Campus is located in the rural Strathcona County countryside, east of Alberta’s capital city, Edmonton. Only 20 minutes from the border of Elk Island National Park, our surrounding areas are dotted with beautiful rolling woodlands, meadows, and ponds teeming with flora and fauna.

Our school was founded originally as Aurora Learning Foundation, officially, in September of 2004, before transitioning to be a part of the OneSchool Global family.

We collaborate regularly with the neighbouring OneSchool Global campuses of Calgary and Vancouver. Our school building is separated into two wings for elementary students and secondary students. The majority of the layout is open and full of flexible seating and learning environments meant for individual and collaborative work with no “traditional” classrooms. The school houses three Zoom rooms, 2 teacher studios, dual-screen docking stations for student access and a 3D printer, all of which are supported by our high functioning IT department. Students can also enjoy the gymnasium, kitchen, mobile science lab, playground, outdoor learning center and multi-use fields for outdoor activities.

Student success at the school is driven by an emphasis on student ownership and self-directed learning. This is supported by a high staff to students ratio at the campus, small class sizes, excellent access to technology and a high level of parent involvement with the school. All stakeholders contribute to a safe and caring atmosphere and a culture that upholds and encourages respect, integrity and responsibility.

The small size of our school means that we work as part of a closely-knit team. Constant support, communication, and collaboration comes naturally between all staff. We drive forward the mission of the organization and have a lot of fun while we do it! There is an opportunity to get to know every student and meaningfully contribute to the successes of the students, colleagues and the school in general.
