The Allen Gray C.D.C provides a half day ECS Kindergarten program in accordance with Alberta Education Curriculum. We also offer before and after school care, small class sizes, hot meals/snacks and an intergenerational program on site. We are co-located in the Allen Gray Continuing Care Centre which allows the children to positively interact with the residents/seniors in the building. This program benefits both the young and the aged as it enhances family values and support, promotes appreciation for cultural heritage and traditions and brings joy to life, as well as a feeling of belonging in all ages.
In addition to the Intergenerational program, our Kindergarten program prepares children for the road ahead: for social interaction, for independence, emotional regulation and for educational advancement. We achieve this through the implementation of a diverse and enriched educational and play program. Education is not only academics. Education also takes the form of culture, arts, music, drama, and creativity. An enriched program includes co-learning, co-researching and co-imagining of possibilities between educators and children.
